Stu Goodman – Founder

Stu graduated from the Fordham University School of Law in 2004 and promptly returned to his native Philadelphia where he spent the next seven years in private practice including five and half years in the corporate and real estate departments of Dilworth Paxson LLP in Philadelphia.

While in private practice, Stu developed a wide range of sophisticated experience representing clients in complex transactional matters including the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial, retail, multi-family, self-storage and industrial real estate, general corporate matters and loan and other financing transactions.

Stu left Dilworth Paxson in 2011 to join Resource Real Estate, Inc. (the real estate subsidiary of publicly traded Resource America, Inc.) as Corporate Counsel and developed a deeper and more direct understanding of the business issues facing today’s real estate clients. Stu worked closely with the company’s business leaders as the company launched its first real estate investment trust and grew its multi-billion dollar real estate asset portfolio.

Stu founded Capstone in August, 2013 to create a law firm with a dedication to provide emerging to middle market companies with a practical legal approach and a personal touch while re-aligning the interest of attorney and client by discarding of the billable hour model imposed upon clients by the vast majority of law firms.

In addition to practicing law, Stu devotes much of his time to advocating on behalf of the State of Israel and other Jewish causes including serving as a member of the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency for Israel (including the Aliyah, Ethiopian Aliyah, and Government Relations Subcommittees), the Board of Directors of the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, the Board of Directors of the Israel Advocacy Group, and the Board of Advisors of the Jewish Agency North American Council.

Stu is also an avid distance runner and ancient history buff. He currently lives in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania with his wife Allison, their two children Shoshanna and Ari, and their dog Simon.
